The smell of smoke fills the air and you feel nothing but the 808s shaking the ground. A couple familiar faces, a few unknown faces. But it’s nothing but good vibes. Then the MC stops the music to call the next performer to the stage. Now what if I told you it was you?
When I first started telling people I make music, their reaction was always so surprised. I was quiet as hell growing up. Still am. But I guess I use it as a way to express myself.
For as long as I could remember, I wanted to do something related to entertainment. I wanted to be a DJ at first, then a dancer, then an actress. I even did YouTube. It was fun for me but I hated when people that I knew found my videos.
When it comes to making music, it was different though. I had to accept the fact that people were going to find out and that it isn’t something to be so secretive about. Now it’s just something people know about me.
I love everything about it. I love performing. I love giving and showing genuine support to other artists because there's so much undiscovered talent out there. I thouroughly enjoy making songs that people like, figuring out video concepts, booking shoots, all of it. Sometimes I get a bit nervous before I get on stage, but once my first song starts and the adrenaline kicks in, there’s nothing like it.

One of my favorite shows was this one Halloween show in Baltimore, MD. My friends came out to support me and it was a pretty decent turn out too. It was a Halloween party, so I dressed up as Cam’ron in his all pink fit. I got so many compliments. I was able to network with a few artists and reconnect with some that I've met before. It was overall just a great night.
I say all of that to say, I feel like music gives me a sense of purpose. Even if I’m not the most successful or the biggest artist out, it’s the experiences like those that matter. It can be a hobby, passion, lifestyle, love, whatever it wants to be at the moment. I know it’s people out there that feel the same and I want to help them be heard by someone, in addition to shifting the culture behind it.
