Sexy Drill: Is Cash Cobain The New Sound of The Summer?

The term “sexy drill” might be foreign to many mainstream music listeners. To the unfamiliar ear, they might be befuddled to say the least. But artists like Cash Cobain, Chow Lee, and Wolffacejoeyy have all contributed to what is a fusion of the New York Drill sound, the popular Plug genre from the mid 2010s, and often with sampled RnB melodies. Then mixed with the simple yet captivating drums…is something really fresh.

Cash Cobain can be considered a godfather to the sound, already with producer credits from artists like Lucki, Bktherula, and Drake. But he has gone banger after banger these past couple of months. Every new song he teases always builds its own anticipation.
